Doha has some of the country's widest culinary options ranging from global fast food chains at the Ramada junction, including Starbucks throughout the city, to a wide selection of ethnic cuisine.

The Indian residence of Doha have opened a number of fine, affordable restaurants including The Garden, which serves multiple types of Indian cuisine from Bengal, Hyderbad and Punjab regions. If you're looking for fine Italian cuisine, Il Rustico in the Rydges Hotel comes highly recommended. You can also find Turkish food at Turkey Central which offers a diverse selection of grilled, authentic Turkish dishes.

The most common place to find elegant international cuisine options are at luxury hotels such as the Ritz Carlton hotel, which features a diversity of international restaurants, ranging from fresh sushi to elegant local options. Each of the hotels hosts multiple restaurant options, so you should check the choices out in advance.

Outside of the city, the Marriot made a concerted effort to bring Doha's cosmopolitan culture on premise with fine dining ranging from Asian to Indian to Mexican and local specialties. The hotel also features a hot night club that makes it ideal for entertaining guest as well. A bit more laid back, the four star Ramada is known for its fine Indian restaurant, as well as the top floor Library Bar that is a common relaxed business setting - a second tower recently opened, providing additional options for travelers.

Chances are that you will find the type of cuisine you are looking for within the country, especially if you are in Doha. Outside of Doha, the smaller towns and cities generally feature more traditional Middle Eastern cuisine, which is full of spice, flavor and warm hospitality. If you're looking to eat at a nice restaurant, it's advised to make reservations in advance, especially for the better known upscale restaurants, such as those found within Doha.
